Cinematic Fantasy Illustration, Character Design
& Visual Storytelling
Creating collectible worlds, unforgettable characters, and premium artwork for authors, publishers, game developers, and visionaries.
A curated exhibition of recent illustration, character design, and worldbuilding. Each piece is hand-composed; some are available as limited archival prints, others remain one-of-one commissions held in private collection.

Walden RFV is the studio name of a fantasy illustrator working at the intersection of literature, cinema, and fine art. For more than a decade his brush has shaped covers for bestselling novels, key art for independent studios, and one-of-one commissions for private collectors who keep the works behind glass.
He works slowly, by intention. A single painting may live on the easel for months — drafted in graphite, rebuilt in ink, brought to color in layered glaze. The result is meant to outlast the trends that surround it.
The studio accepts a small number of commissions per year. Inquiries are reviewed personally.
Five focused practices. Each engagement is bespoke, scoped against your project, and never duplicated.

A private conversation. We listen for the world you are trying to build, the audience you intend to move, and the legacy of the piece.
A written brief, mood plates, and a tonal proposal. The architecture of the work is defined before a single line is drawn.
Multiple thumbnails and tightened studies. You are invited into the studio at each milestone to shape the composition with us.
Ink, paint, glaze. The image is built in layers across weeks. Detail passes are made under museum lighting before approval.
Archival files, original artwork, signed certificate, and — for collectors — bespoke framing. The piece arrives ready to be hung.
Walden delivered a cover that did not merely sell the book — it has come to define the entire trilogy. Readers walk into shops asking for it by the painting.
We engaged the studio for ten key plates and received a complete visual language. The work is now permanently on display in our office.
An artist of the rarest kind. Walden treated my commission as if it were destined for a museum. It has not left our drawing room since.
